Progress on Multimedia Project
I have not really started my project just yet. I am working on my credential applications and getting those into the mail today! Therefore tonight and tommorrow I am working on just that project. I would like to get my pictures taken on Wednesday due to the fact I will be in the classroom, and my script written by tonight. Hopefully by Thursday I will have a good chunk of it done.

cultural models and learning
This chapter was interesting. I like how he went into depth about what you learn from video games. I like what he said about cultural models to. It seems like a theme throughout the book in the sense of your experiences are how you interrupt. For instance the little kid describing the sonic hedgehog. When he is the "shadow" even though it is an evil character you are doing a positive thing by staying alive. I have never thought of it that way in the sense of grand theft auto also. Even though you are killing for the mob you are doing positive thinking and organizing how you are going to stay alive. Really interesting. I think the last chapter will be interesting to see how he concludes it and how he compares it all wrapping up!

situated learning
I have to say I really enjoy this book. I get a little confused when he talks about video games still because I do not really play video games. But I really enjoy the positive look towards video games. I enjoy his 36 learning principles. I enjoy how in the end he goes into number 17. I agree with this. It states that the meaning of signs are situated in embodied experience. Meanings are not general or decontextulized. This goes back to the beggining of the book when he was saying that reading the bible can be interrupted in many ways. If you are religious and reading it versus not being religous and reading it.

Blog #2
I like this first chapter of Gee. You hear so many negative thigs about video games and computer games it is refreshing to hear a poisitve point of view. I did not grow up on video games so I have always takent the point of view that video games are bad. But after reading his introductory chapter I am excited to see what he has to say about the rest of the book. I really like his point that when you read something everyone interpruts it in different ways. I also like the point that people think in different ways. I have always known these point but I like how he tells the story about how he was playing a video game with his child and could not play the game. He thought it was hard but his son played with a breeze. This is so true. My guy friends will sit and play video games for hours! I however give up after my thirty seconds of fun because I usually lose because I cannot play and have not played.
